Gazprom Repairing North Caucasus-Transcaucasia Gas Pipeline

More than 120 people and 50 units of machinery are working to repair a section of the North Caucasus-Transcaucasia gas pipeline, Russia’s Gazprom announced.
Gazprom operates the 168-mile (271 km) pipeline, also known as the Mozdok-Tbilisi Pipeline, along with Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation. The pipeline reaches from Russia’s North Ossetia–Alania Republic to Tbilisi in Georgia and to Armenia, and came online in 1965, Caspian News reported.
Gasmen from Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol are working on the repairs on the floodplain of the mountain river Terek, according to Gazprom.
Since the main pipeline is being repaired, Russian gas is temporarily being transported to Armenia from Azerbaijan, Trend News Agency reported last month.
"The North Caucasus-Transcaucasia main pipeline is being temporarily repaired,” Ibrahim Ahmadov, deputy head of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan's Events and Public Relations Department, told Trend. “In this regard, the Russian side has appealed to Azerbaijan for the transit of its natural gas from Azerbaijan to Georgia, and an agreement has been reached on the temporary transit of Russian gas through Azerbaijan to Georgia.”
