UGI Expands Gathering System in Marcellus Basin

UGI Energy Services has approved further expansion of its Auburn Gathering System in the Marcellus Basin with construction of two additional compressor stations in Pennsylvania's Susquehanna and Wyoming counties.

The expansion will increase system capacity by 150 MMcf/d, boosting total system capacity to 620 MMcf/d. Deliveries are scheduled to begin this fall, with the balance of capacity becoming available in the fall of 2019.

“Demand for Marcellus gas continues to grow rapidly,” said John L. Walsh, president and chief executive officer of UGI Corporation, parent of UGI Energy Services. “Developing the infrastructure to transport this gas is critically important."

The Auburn System expansion will transport gas from acreage being produced by Cabot Oil & Gas. The project is supported by a long-term agreement and will require a total capital investment of $50 million.
