Tallgrass Energy Submits Cheyenne Connector Project Application

Tallgrass Energy Partners LP has filed applications with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the Cheyenne Connector Pipeline and the Cheyenne Hub Enhancement Project.

The Cheyenne Connector Pipeline Project includes building a 70-mile, 36 inch-diameter pipeline that would transport natural gas from the DJ Basin into the Cheyenne Hub on the Rockies Express Pipeline, allowing shippers’ access to midwestern, Midcontinent and Gulf Coast markets. The Cheyenne Hub Enhancement Project consists of adding 32,100 hp of compression by installing six booster units at Rockies Express Pipeline’s existing facility, increasing capacity by approximately 1,000,000 Dth/d.

Once completed, the projects would transport approximately 600,000 Dth/d into the Rockies Express Pipeline from processing plants in Weld County, Colorado and are supported by 10-year commitments from affiliates of Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and DCP Midstream LP.

Tallgrass is hoping to receive approval for both projects by February 2019, with an anticipated in-service date of October 2019.
