Corinth Pipeworks Pipe Industry SA has been awarded a contract from Elering and Baltic Connector OY for the production of the undersea portion of the Balticconnector gas pipeline.

Under the terms of the contract, Corinth Pipeworks will produce 6,500 sections of pipe by the end of 2018. Once completed, the pipe will be welded together to form a 77-kilometer section that will be laid beneath the Gulf of Finland.

The Balticconnector Pipeline Project includes the construction of a 153-kilometer pipeline that will connect the gas networks of Estonia and Finland. The project will transport 7.2 million cubic meters of natural gas per day and is expected to be placed in service in 2019.
