New CEO Named at PEMEX

Mexico’s President, Enrique Pena Nieto, today named Carlos Trevino as CEO of state-run energy company Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX).  Trevino replaces Jose Antonio Gonzalez Anaya, who was appointed as the country’s new finance minister.

Trevino currently serves as PEMEX’s corporate director of administration and services. He previously served as the company’s corporate finance director and also twice served as corporate director of administration. Prior to joining PEMEX, Trevino held several positions within Mexico’s government, including senior official in the Ministries of Economy and Energy, undersecretary of expenditures for the ministry of finance and public credit, general director of Financiera Rural, and director finance at the Mexican Institute of Social Security.

Trevino graduated from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, where he studied food engineering and earned master’s degrees in business administration and sciences.
