Pipeline Construction Project Contract Awarded in Mexico
Gas Natural del Noroeste SA de CV has been awarded a $21.1 million contract from Mexico’s Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) to construct a 32-kilometer, 24-inch lateral pipeline that will transport fuel to natural gas power plants in the northwestern region of the country.
Once completed, the pipeline will deliver natural gas from TransCanada’s 560-kilometer El Encino-Topolobampo Pipeline. The El Encino-Topolobampo Pipeline commenced partial operations earlier this year and interconnects with IEnova’s Ojinaga-El Encino system, which transports natural gas from the Trans-Pecos Pipeline in Presidio, TX.
The project, which is expected to be placed in service in July 2018, is anchored by a 27-year, 280 MMcf/d transportation agreement with CFE.
