Pipeline Construction Project Feasibility Study Launched
Eustream has launched a feasibility study for the Eastring Pipeline, a Pan-European pipeline directly connecting Central and South Eastern European countries. The study is being conducted by Euroil, a Hungarian engineering and consultancy company.
The first working meeting regarding the study was held on September 5 between Euroil and the project’s partners, which includes Bulgarian TSO Bulgartransgaz EAD., Romanian Transgaz S.A., Hungarian FGSZ Zrt and Eustream.
“We have launched the new important phase of the project which will improve energy security for customers in Central and South Eastern Europe,” said Eustream’s CEO Rastislav Ňukovič. “Eastring is the EU’s Project of Common Interest (PCI) and we are happy that we can make this important step with the direct financial support from the European Union.”
The main purpose of the feasibility study is to define all necessary technical, economical, financial and environmental details of the project. 50 percent of the costs of the feasibility study will be funded by the European Commission under the Connecting Europe Facility fund.
The study is expected to be completed in June 2018.
