Ramboll to Conduct FEED Study for Pipeline Construction Project

Ramboll has been awarded a contract from Statoil to provide a FEED study for the pipelines connecting the Askeladd field to the Snøhvit field in the Barents Sea.

“We are very excited to work with Statoil once again which is a great opportunity to reconfirm our ties after the strong collaboration on the Polarled and Gina Krog projects,” said Kristoffer Bergholt, Head of Department, Offshore Pipelines for Ramboll.  “Our scope of work is comprehensive and includes a FEED study, as well as umbilical routing installation, protection and tie-in design.”

The Snøhvit development consists of the Snøhvit and Albatross fields, which are currently operational, and the Askeladd field, which is under development and designed to maintain a full capacity utilization at the Melkøya LNG plant, outside the Norwegian city of Hammerfest. Once developed, the Askeladd and Snøhvit fields combined length of 185 km will set a world record for the longest subsea to shore tie-back distance.
