Energy Drone Coalition Announces 2017 Horizon Award Recipient
The Energy Drone Coalition has named Dr. Luis Cifuentes, Vice President of Research, Commercialization and Outreach at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi as the recipient of the 2017 Energy Drone Coalition Horizon Award, sponsored by BP. This annual award was created to recognize professionals in the energy drone industry for their contributions, leadership, fostering advances in drone operations, collaborating with the industry and for their exceptional spirit of service to others in the industry.
Dr. Cifuentes was chosen for his hard work and dedication to increase the use of drones in the energy industry, providing guidance to students who are focusing on drones as their career path, supporting the research necessary to improve the use of drones in energy operations and tireless promotional work as it relates to the Texas A&M Experiment Station and the Lone Star Center of Excellence and Innovation
The Energy Drone Coalition Horizon Award will be presented by Brett Rinne, Project Supervisor with BP, to Dr. Cifuentes next Wednesday, June 21 at the Energy Drone Summit.
