TransCanada Concludes Canadian Mainline Open Season

TransCanada successfully concluded a long-term, open season to transport natural gas on the Canadian Mainline from the Empress receipt point in Alberta to the Dawn hub in Southern Ontario.

Collectively, customers signed for 1.5 Bcf/d of natural gas capacity from the Empress Receipt point in Alberta to the Dawn hub in southern Ontario, under 10-year contractions and have early termination rights after five years.

“Today, WCSB producers are facing a much more challenging landscape than they have in the past,” said Russ Girling, president and CEO.

Service can be provided by existing facilities, according to TransCanada, and an in-service date of Nov. 1 is expected.
