Poland-Slovakia Pipeline Project Receives Financing
Gaz-System and Eustream have received financing worth $108 million EUR from the European Union for the construction of a 102-mile Poland – Slovakia pipeline connection.
The project will connect the Slovak gas compressor station is located in Veľké Kapušany and the gas interconnection point in Strachocin. It also also covers the necessary development of the internal industrial network in southeastern Poland, the construction of a compressor station in Strachocina, modification of the existing compressor station in Veľké Kapušany and the construction of a measuring station close to the Polish-Slovak border.
“The connection will open the Slovak market for the import of gas from the LNG terminal in Świnoujście, “ Tomasz Stępień, CEO, Gaz-System, said.
The Poland – Slovakia pipeline connection is part of the North-South Corridor Project and is expected to be completed in 2019.
