Shaw Group Acquires KP Engineering
Pipe and module fabricator The Shaw Group announced that it has completed its acquisition of KP Engineering, a specialist in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) solutions for the refining, syngas, hydrogen and renewable fuels industries. Now known as KP Shaw, LLC, the acquired company will operate as a subsidiary of The Shaw Group, with branding of the new entity to be established in coming months.
Shaw, which has 1,500 employees and six facilities in the United States and the Middle East, said the addition of KPE position the company to deliver complete engineering, procurement, and fabrication (EPF) project solutions to a variety of industries around the world. Shaw said it will offer modular and EPF solutions to the oil and gas, hydrogen and chemical, and renewable fuels and energy industries.
“This acquisition serves to fulfill an urgent requirement for bankable EPF service capacity in the growing North American market,” said William E. Preston, who will continue as the president and CEO of KP Shaw.
Shaw’s offerings include pipe, module, and structural steel fabrication, induction bending and specialty coating services. The addition of KPE will expand the company’s capabilities more fully across the entire project life cycle, Shaw said.
ClockSpring/NRI Renamed Critica Infrastructure
ClockSpring/NRI announced that the company is rebranding as Critica Infrastructure to align its name with the solutions it provides to engineers, owners and operators to extend the life of their critical assets.
Critica provides engineered composites, insertion valves, geopolymer materials, and fiber-reinforced polymer solutions. The markets it serves include energy, water, storm and sanitation systems, buildings and transportation, CEO Frank Firsching said.
Critica Infrastructure will operate with four business unit brands – AVT Insertion Valves, CSNRI Composites, Fyfe FRP, and GeoTree Solutions.
