What's New January 2022

Saint-Gobain

Saint-Gobain Abrasives introduced upgraded Norton BlueFire Abrasives, including belts, cloth quick-change and flap discs, and mini flap discs. Featuring a new, proprietary, self-sharpening zirconia alumina grain shape and chemistry, and an upgraded resin bond for faster cut rates and durability, the new BlueFire R860 and R887D abrasive products provide exceptional performance on a wide range of materials in light- to heavy-pressure applications. An improved, heavy-duty polyester backing is designed for long life and will withstand challenging applications. In addition to metal fabrication and welding, new Norton BlueFire abrasive products are well-suited for key industries, such as oil and gas, and general metalworking. www.saint-gobain-abrasives.com/en-us

NDT Global

NDT Global released its OPTIX Data Visualization and Insights Platform, providing pipeline operators with an intuitive, cloud-based dashboard to visualize all inline inspection (ILI) data in one accessible location. Digitization of the final inspection report, combined with the ease of filtering and arranging relevant data, allows operators to better understand their ILI inspection results and make more informed decisions to ensure the integrity of their pipelines. The platform provides a comprehensive view of pipeline conditions not previously available, bringing together results from many inspection runs. Continued advancement in ILI technologies has led to significantly more data to extract and interpret. www.ndt-global.com

Vermeer

Vermeer expanded its horizontal directional drilling (HDD) fluid management equipment line with the new R600T reclaimer. The new 600-gallons/minute (2,271.3-liters/minute) mud recycling system can pair with maxi-rigs pumping between 300 and 600 gallons/minute (1,136 and 2,271 liters/minute) on pipeline and other large-diameter installation projects. The R600T features a redesigned linear-motion shaker deck to help reduce weight, increase the available G-force and extend screen life, as well as several other performance and serviceability-enhancing features. The three-tank (scalped, middle and clean) R600T reclaimer has a total fluid capacity of 7,729 gallons (29,257.4 liters) and can process 1,100 gallons/minute (4,163.9 liters/minute) of drilling slurry for a true cleaning capacity suited for HDD projects in the 600-gallons/minute range. www.vermeer.com

Netzsch

Netzsch also offers advanced, field-proven technology for lease automatic custody transfer (LACT) and other midstream and downstream pumping applications. Nemo progressing cavity pumps are reliable, modular systems that handle a wide range of hydrocarbons with a constant, smooth and low-pulsating flow that ensures accurate flow readings. Notos 3NS multiple screw pumps are the next generation in LACT pipeline booster pump technology with efficient operation, a small footprint and easy serviceability. The Tornado Rotary Lobe Pumps solve a wide range of challenging applications and solids control, with high-power density, small space requirements and the ability to convey almost any substance continuously and gently while metering in proportion to rotation speed. The Tornado is engineered to handle media that are sheer-sensitive, low- or high-viscosity, abrasive, and acidic/caustic substances. www.pumps.netzsch.com

Ralston

Ralston Instruments introduced the ControlPak, the first manual pressure controller developed for calibrating pressure instruments with compressed gas in the field. It features a large, pressure-balancing piston for precise, fingertip control of pressure, along with a tough, tactical case that protects the controls and makes it easy to transport to any test site. With a pressure range of 0.03 to 3,000 psi (200 kPa to 20 MPa), the ControlPak allows the testing of multiple devices in a single setup, including differential and static calibration, even at extremely low pressures. The fine-adjust piston, fill, balance and vent valves are clearly labeled and intuitively arranged in the unit, which also includes storage space for hoses, adapters and accessories. ralstoninst.com

Brooks

Brooks Instrument added the GT1600 Series of glass tube variable area flowmeters to its industry-leading family of variable area flowmeter products. The flowmeter features high-quality design and materials, such as 316 stainless steel construction and a polycarbonate shield. The adjustable, transparent scale improves readability and allows for offset correction to compensate for process variation. In addition, the process connection can be rotated 360 degrees so users can view from all directions. The GT1600 is available with a variety of connections to fit existing piping arrangements or mount to a panel or wall. It can also work as a drop-in retrofit for the Brooks Instrument GT1000, GT1300 and Full-View 1100 Series of flowmeters, which have been used for decades. www.BrooksInstrument.com
