CorEnergy Executives Recognized for Industry Leadership
CorEnergy Infrastructure Trust, which owns and operates or leases natural gas transmission and distribution lines and crude oil gathering, storage and transmission pipelines and associated rights-of-way, announced that two of its executives have been recognized by industry organizations for their leadership and accomplishments.
Rebecca (Becky) Sandring, CorEnergy’s executive vice president, treasurer and secretary, has been named by Kayo, an organization of professional women in the investment industry, as one of “21 in ’21: Women in Infrastructure Investing.” In addition to her role as a co-founder of CorEnergy – the first publicly listed REIT focused on energy infrastructure – Sandring was also recognized for having successfully secured two Private Letter Rulings (PLRs) from the Internal Revenue Service and for her crucial role in the acquisition of CorEnergy’s various REIT-qualifying assets since the company’s inception.
Valerie Jackson, vice president of Engineering and Regulatory Com-pliance, has been named to a two-year term on the Pipeline Safety Advisory Committee for California’s Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM). Jackson is one of only two representatives of pipeline operators on the committee, which was established to inform local agencies and pipeline operators of changes in applicable laws and regulations affecting the operation of pipelines in California. The committee also reviews proposed hazardous liquid pipeline safety regulations on a regular basis.
Cheniere Energy appointed Patricia K. Collawn and Lorraine Mitchelmore as independent directors of the Houston LNG company. Collawn is chairman, president and CEO of Albuquerque, N.M.-based PNM Resources, which she joined in 2007 from Public Service Company of Colorado, where she was president and CEO. She has served on the board of directors of Equitrans Midstream Corporation since April 2020, and previously served on the board of directors of CTS Corporation and as chairman of the Electric Power Research Institute and the Edison Electric Institute. Mitchelmore most recently served as president and CEO of Calgary-based clean energy technology company. She is former executive vice president, Americas Heavy Oil for Royal Dutch Shell and previously was president and Canada Country chair at Shell Canada. Mitchelmore has served on the board of directors of Suncor Energy since November 2019 and the Bank of Montreal since May 2015. She previously was a director at TransMountain Corporation.
Entergy Corporation named John Weiss to the position of vice president of Sustainability and Environmental Policy, succeeding Chuck Barlow, who retired from the company in 2020. Weiss brings seven years of sustainability integration and strategic leadership experience to the role. He comes to Entergy from the Boston-based sustainability nonprofit organization Ceres, where he served as senior director for the last two years.
Entergy also appointed Bill Abler as vice president of Investor Relations, succeeding David Borde, who will lead Entergy’s utility strategy and regulatory initiative’s function. Since joining Entergy in 2003, Abler has served in leadership positions in Commercial Development and Innovation, Commercial Operations and the company’s wholesale commodities business.
Prior to working at Entergy, he held commercial and leadership roles at Exxon, UBS Warburg and Apache Corporation. Borde joined Entergy in 2009 and has held leadership positions in Corporate Development and Finance. Prior to joining Entergy, he was an associate with the law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and an investment banker at Citi.
Duke Energy made a number of senior management changes with the Aug. 1 retirement of Doug Esamann as executive vice president of Energy Solutions and president of the Midwest and Florida regions and the natural gas business. Julie Janson was named executive vice president and CEO of Duke Energy Carolinas; Alex Glenn was appointed senior vice president and CEO of Duke Energy Florida and Midwest; Brian Savoy was named executive vice president and chief strategy and commercial officer, Harry Sideris was named executive vice president for Customer Experience, Solutions and Services; Louis Renjel was appointed senior vice president for External Affairs and Communications; Melody Birmingham was named senior vice president and chief administrative officer; and Ron Reising was appointed senior vice president and chief Human Resources officer.
Roxanne Burr joined Takeuchi-US as its new controller, with responsibility for numerous monthly, quarterly and annual accounting tasks, including financials, audits, cash flow, budgeting and payroll. Burr joins Takeuchi from Majors Management, where she managed all accounting functions for more than 300 legal entities as controller.
Michael S. Dingman, a litigator with more than three decades of experience advising clients in construction, energy and real estate matters, joined McGuireWoods as a partner in Tysons, Va. In his national practice, Dingman represents owners and developers, contractors and subcontractors in construction contract and real estate negotiations and in energy-related disputes and general commercial litigation.
