Caterpillar Marine

Caterpillar Marine launched the Cat C32B high-performance 2,000 hp [2,025 metric horsepower (mhp)] marine engine with a rated engine speed of 2,300 rpm. This engine meets emerging market demands and expands the power capability of the C32 high-performance product line, delivering a 5% power increase over existing C32 ratings. Customers familiar with the current C32 engine can expect a similar look with the new model, as well as most of the same connection points and footprint. The engine will be available with the same emissions certifications as the current C32 high-performance ratings, including EPA Tier 3 Recreational and IMO II. www.cat.com/en_US

Trimble

Trimble introduced the R12i GNSS receiver, the latest addition to its Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) portfolio. The receiver incorporates inertial measurement unit (IMU)-based tilt compensation, which enables points to be measured or staked out while the survey rod is tilted, empowering land surveyors to focus on the job at hand and complete work faster and more accurately. Designed with flexible signal management that enables the use of all available GNSS constellations and signals, the Trimble ProPoint is a key enabler of the new TIP technology. Surveyors can continue to use the R12i’s tilt compensation functionality even in challenging environments when other solutions struggle to maintain GNSS and inertial positioning. www.geospatial.trimble.com

Koike

Koike Aronson Ransome released its latest portable welding carriage, the Wel-Handy Multi Next for semi-automated welding. This machine features a revolutionary multifunction drive system that allows operators to perform various weld types with one machine. The equipment delivers traction control with a 120-FT-LB pull force magnet, ensuring precise and consistent results for both vertical and horizontal welding. This welding carriage is constructed with a single-piece aluminum die-cast body protected by aluminum and stainless steel heat shields to resist slag penetration. The multifunction controller allows operators to perform straight-line, stitch and weave-type welds with the same carriage. Switching from continuous welding to stitch welding is as simple as a turn of the function dial. www.koike.com

Juniper Systems

Juniper Systems released the Mesa 3 Rugged Tablet. Built on the success of the Mesa 2, it grants users access to the Google Play Store, providing the data-collecting, mapping and productivity applications needed. Mesa 3 operates on an octa-core processor from Qualcomm that offers the speed and flexibility specialists need for processor-intensive applications in the field. The processor is backed with 6 GB of system memory (RAM), allowing for more demanding tasks, larger datasheets and more programs running at once on the device. www.junipersys.com

Pure Safety Group

Pure Safety Group (PSG) unveiled its Guardian Fall Protection S1 safety harness, which is the first in a series of innovative new harnesses designed with three levels of features for various work scenarios. All harnesses meet OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, while exceeding ANSI (American National Standards Institute) standards. The S1 features steel hardware that includes a three-bar torso adjustment for quick, proper fitting, and various connection point options for use in multiple applications. The device is available in four sizes for optimal fit with customized harnesses available. www.puresafetygroup.com

Cortec

Cortec launched its CX-RV2.6 Pneumatic Pressure Relief System. The system, API 6A PSL 3 monogrammable and comprised of SIL 3-rated components, is designed to provide rapid pressure relief within high-pressure systems, including mud pumps, managed pressure drilling manifolds and frack relief systems. Designed as a replacement to purely mechanical devices, the CX-RV2.6 is a rugged, all-pneumatic system that requires only 80 psi (5.5 bar) minimum air supply to function. The company said the design has been proved through extensive validation over thousands of pressure cycles, with consistent tripping results within 1% or less of the pressure set point. Users have the ability to set auto and manual reset modes. www.uscortec.com

BKV

Brüel & Kjær Vibro (BKV) introduced the Vibroport 8000 (VP-8000) Portable Vibration Analyzer for rotating and reciprocating equipment. The VP-8000 is a specially configured and packaged version of the machinery protection system. It features the same universal measurement modules (UMMs) and the rugged and field-proven design as the VC-8000 but is optimized for portable dynamic data collection and diagnostics. The analyzer can also be used as a mobile platform for monitoring a number of machines that are not instrumented or that only have protection systems. It is both a portable data collector and usable for analysis of data for shafts/bearings, impact monitoring and two-plane balancing. www.bkvibro.com
