TT Technologies

TT Technologies’ redesigned Grundopit pit-launched mini-directional drill is well-suited for difficult utility service line installations in tight working conditions. The unit is compact, 54 inches long, 43 inches wide and 57 inches tall. It delivers 13,489 pounds of thrust and pull back and 553 ft./lbs. of torque with bore length up to 150 feet. The Grundopit is an ideal entry-level system for utilities, cable industries or as a supplement to larger units. Components include a two-part bore rig, patented drill stem plug in, 30 drill stems, bore head with angled steering surface, backreamer and swivel coupling, hose package and power pack. www.tttechnologies.com.

Sensirion 

The new Sensirion SGM6200 module covers natural gases in group E with up to 25% hydrogen content at a current consumption below 10 µA. One single module covers natural gases in groups H and L and E (as defined in EN437), as well as natural gas mixtures, including non-conventional fuel gases with up to 25% hydrogen content. The SGM6200 family will output temperature-compensated volumes of natural gas, aligned with today’s most widely used billing systems for natural gas. The company plans to make samples available by Feb. 25, 2018. By assessing additional physical properties of natural gas, the SGM6200 series paves the way for realizing Sensirion’s vision of direct energy content monitoring of natural gas in gas meters. www.sensirion.com.

Hifi Engineering

Hifi Engineering Inc. announced the results of its high-fidelity dynamic (acoustics, temperature, strain) sensing HDS™ technology, which proved the Hifi HDS system capable of detecting all leaks generated during this testing program, with no false positives in real time. Operating pressures ranged from 195 psi to 3 psi, for liquids and gas, in both offshore and land applications. The technology monitors pipelines all day and can detect flows of less than a liter within seconds. It includes proprietary fiber-optic cables optimized for sensing as well as optical hardware and software for permanent deployment and continuous monitoring. The patented software algorithms are designed to correlate acoustic, temperature and vibration/strain data in real time to discern operating conditions such as excessive strain, thermal events and security intrusions, which if left unaddressed, could evolve into a leak in the pipeline. www.hifieng.com

PipeLine Machinery International

PipeLine Machinery International (PLM) introduces the Panther T14R and Panther T16 by Prinoth. The Panther T14R allows continuous rotation of the upper portion of the vehicle independent from the undercarriage. The direction reset lets the operator reset the vehicle’s upper and lower portions’ alignment by pushing a button. The Panther T14R has a 29,100-pound (13,200-kg) payload capacity and a loaded ground pressure of 7.46 psi. The Panther T16 carrier has the highest payload in its class at 33,500 pounds (15,195 kg) and a ground pressure of 6.87 psi, fully loaded.

Flow Research

Flow Research announced its entire ultrasonic series of three studies is now available. It is comprised of “Core Study: The World Market for Ultrasonic Flowmeters, 5th Edition;” “Module A: The World Market for Inline Ultrasonic Flowmeters;” and “Module B: The World Market for Clamp-on and Insertion Ultrasonic Flowmeters.” The company spent a full year researching the entire ultrasonic market, visiting suppliers and attending conferences, giving it the ability to cross-check its numbers. Caterpillar Marine

Caterpillar Marine is offering the new Multi-Engine Optimizer (MEO) tool which leverages proprietary performance data and patented control algorithms to provide intelligence for power management systems. MEO works by advising power management systems on which engines to operate. It also enables the use of dynamic asymmetric loads to drive the combination of engines and loads to create the lowest possible fuel consumption. The PLC-based system contains proprietary performance data and control algorithms providing the highest overall fuel efficiency.

Avitas

Avitas Systems, a GE Venture, announced a strategic partnership with Kraken Robotics to integrate autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), acoustic and laser-sensor technology, and artificial intelligence-based navigation software into unique subsea inspection solutions for the oil and gas, offshore renewable energy, and shipping industries. Kraken Robotics brings a broad range of cost-efficient AUV technologies such as sensors, pressure-tolerant batteries, thrusters, and control electronics. Avitas Systems will integrate these technologies into an autonomous subsea inspection system. The data from this inspection will be uploaded into a state-of-the-art platform that includes robust data ingestion, automatic defect recognition, predictive analytics, and a cloud-based visualization portal for oil and gas and offshore energy customers. www.avitas-systems.com.
