Basra Gas Awards Contact For NGL Project In Iraq

Technip, in partnership with China HuanQiu Contracting & Engineering Corporation, was awarded a contract by Basra Gas Company for front-end engineering design (FEED) for the Ar Ratawi Natural Gas Liquids Train 1 project at North Rumaila in Basra Province, Iraq.

The project calls for an NGL train with nominal feed capacity of 530 MMscf/d. The standalone facilities will produce LPG, NGL and condensate for domestic markets. The work covers the engineering design package of the NGL process units, utilities and the submission of an engineering procurement and construction (EPC) package.

Technip’s operating center in Abu Dhabi will execute the project that is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014. BGC is a joint venture of the Iraq South Gas Company (51%), Shell (44%) and Mitsubishi (5%).
