Peregrine Midstream To Rebuild Ryckman Creek Nitrogen Rejection Unit

Peregrine Midstream Partners LLC announced that subsidiary Ryckman Creek Resources LLC has entered into a definitive agreement with Acqyre to provide procurement services for the rebuild of the nitrogen rejection unit (NRU) at the company’s Ryckman Creek Gas Storage Facility in Uinta County, WY.

The original NRU was destroyed by an explosion and fire on April 20, 2013, the cause of which is still under investigation. Ryckman Creek has engaged Fluor Engineering to assist in the design and engineering of the new NRU. Scheduled for completion in the third quarter, the new NRU will contain significant design improvements over the original unit and will afford greater operational flexibility and improved safety.

Construction of the 35 Bcf Ryckman Creek Gas Storage Facility started in September 2011. Ryckman Creek began commercial operations in August 2012 with a working gas capacity of 18 Bcf. In addition to Ruby Pipeline, Ryckman Creek is connected to the Kern River, Questar, Overthrust and Northwest pipelines. All of these interstate pipelines also are connected to the Opal Hub located just north of Ryckman Creek.
