Spectra Announces Gas Transmission Project

Spectra Energy held a non-binding open season for the Renaissance Gas Transmission Project that ended March 30.

As proposed, the pipeline infrastructure will comprise 230 miles of 36, 30 and 24-inch high pressure pipeline commencing at the Texas Eastern system near its Mount Pleasant compressor station in Tennessee, traversing northeast Alabama and northern Georgia, to a connection with the Transco system near Lawrenceville, GA.

In addition, three compressor stations will be built at strategic locations ensuring reliable, high pressure delivery service to meet the requirements of power generators. Expected project capacity is up to 1.25 Bcf/d. Project completion is expected as early as fourth quarter 2015.
