Open Season For Eastern Illinois Storage Facility Draws Positive Results

Wabash Gas Storage LLC says it had positive results from its recently completed non-binding open season.

The company reported receiving bids that represent three times the projected capacity of the Wabash storage facility under development in eastern Illinois that is located 2.8 miles from the Midwestern Gas Transmission Co.’s Paris, IL compressor station (CS 2115). The injection and withdrawal capacity of the facility is estimated at 200,000 MMBtu/d.

“We received a broad array of responses that reflect interest from several sectors of the natural gas markets,” said John Hall, who managed the open season for Wabash Gas Storage. Wabash also received expressions of interest in having the storage project interconnect with the Rockies Express and Panhandle Eastern pipeline systems. The company plans to hold follow-up discussions with prospective shippers shortly.
