ENSTOR Announces Expansions to Two Gas Storage Facilities
ENSTOR has announced expanded storage capacities at two of its U.S. gas storage facilities: Caledonia in Lowndes County, Mississippi, and Grama Ridge in Lea County, New Mexico.
“ENSTOR continues to invest in facility expansion through the addition of interconnects or by increasing capacity in locations where market conditions are favorable,” said Pat DeVille, president of ENSTOR.
The high-deliverability, multi-cycle Caledonia facility has increased its maximum certificated working gas capacity from 16.9 Bcf to 22.0 Bcf. That effectively pushes maximum daily withdrawal rates to 550,000 Mcf/day and the maximum injection rate to 558,000 Mcf/day.
Caledonia is connected to Tennessee Gas Pipeline on its 500 Leg in Zone 1, and is located in an area traversed by numerous new and existing interstate pipelines which access the prolific Barnett, Woodford and Haynesville shale production areas. Additionally, this pipeline serves markets in the Northeast, Southeast and Ohio Valley regions.
The Grama Ridge facility–which offers storage for managing seasonal and operational needs in the Permian region–also recently expanded by more than 2 BCF to in excess of 9.5 BCF of capacity. Before the end of the year, Grama Ridge will complete an additional pipeline interconnect with NGPL with an incremental 35,000 MMBtu/day of access to Permian and MidContinent supply basins, with the potential for future expansion to 150,000/d, if the market proves up.
Grama Ridge is currently interconnected with the El Paso pipeline in the Keystone pooling area and with DCP’s Raptor Pipeline, an intrastate system.
