First Gas Flows in Sinopecs Puguang Shanghai Pipeline

March 30 marked the startup of gas flowing through Sinopec subsidiary China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation’s 1,702 km Puguang–Shanghai natural gas pipeline project.

Passing through eight provinces, including Chongqing city, Zhejiang and Hubei, the Sichuan–Shanghai pipeline has been developed as part of the $US8.2 billion Puguang gas field development, located in southwestern Sichuan Province.

Requiring investment of $US9.2 billion, the pipeline has natural gas transmission capacity of 12 Bcm/a.
