Energy Transfer To Expand Planned Tiger Pipeline

Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. announced an expansion of the planned Tiger Pipeline that will serve the Haynesville Shale producing region in Louisiana and East Texas.

Ultimate capacity of the expansion will be based upon producer response to a binding open season launched in February.

The 180-mile, 42-inch Tiger natural gas pipeline system will serve the producing region in Louisiana and the Carthage Hub area in East Texas with interconnects along seven major interstate pipelines serving the eastern half of the United States. The pipeline is expected to be in service in the first half of 2011 with the expansion finished later that year. Construction of the pipeline and expansion are subject to approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

In other news, Energy Transfer is acquiring Tristate North Louisiana Midstream, LLC and TSM Treating, LLC, which collectively own a 120-mile gathering system in Red River and Bienville parishes in Louisiana with capacity of 275 MMcf/d, and natural gas-treating facilities with 480 MMcf/d of treating capacity.

The company has increased acreage dedicated to its long-term gathering agreements in the Haynesville Shale to more than 100,000 acres. The gathering network will tie to several interstate and intrastate pipelines including Energy Transfer’s planned Tiger Pipeline.
