Plano, TX-based Invensys Operations Management has signed a five-year, multimillion-dollar contract to supply comprehensive operator training, process design and operation optimization solution to Malaysia LNG Tiga Sdn Bhd.

Houston-based McJunkin Red Man Corporation will acquire Transmark Fcx Group B.V., an international distributor of specialty valves and flow control equipment.

Geospatial Holdings Inc. has entered into a strategic alliance with Topcon Positioning Systems, Inc. The purpose of the alliance is to jointly market Geospatial’s Smart Probe™ Pipeline Mapping Technologies with Topcon’s IP-S2, 3D above ground Mobile Mapping System. With the combined technologies municipalities, engineers, pipeline operators and utilities are capable of gathering and managing 3D geo-referenced surface features along with 3D underground pipeline data.

In recognition of its outstanding performance in delivery, quality, lean practices and customer support, Simrit‘s Germantown, WI facility was awarded United Technologies Corp.’s Supplier Gold status. Part of the Simrit Division of Freudenberg-NOK, the Germantown facility manufactures and supplies diaphragms for UTC’s Milton Roy Company, which manufactures controlled volume (metering) pumps and related equipment to handle a wide variety of fluids.

Ironshore Inc. has established a dedicated Energy Casualty division as an extension of its Global Energy unit. It can now offer Energy Casualty and Property coverage to the energy industry for diverse commercial clients worldwide through its insurance platforms in the U.S., London and Bermuda. Ironshore will provide up to $10 million in capacity targeted to lead umbrella and excess layers. The Energy Casualty business will underwrite all traditional energy classes of business, including but not limited to, oil and gas, power generation and utilities.

Expro completed a £1.2 million redesign and refurbishment of its Churchill facility in Aberdeen, Scotland. The project will allow Expro to handle the increase in demand for subsea safety systems used by operators to deliver critical well control functions in challenging deepwater regions.

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was honored for public service by the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars of the Smithsonian Institution.

Shell Energy North America (Canada) Inc., a subsidiary of Shell Energy North America (US), L.P. has closed on its acquisition of the Canadian natural gas and power customer contract portfolio of Integrys Energy Services of Canada Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Integrys Energy Services, Inc. Customer contracts will be integrated into Shell Energy’s existing natural gas and power portfolio.

Q.Pro Technical Services has acquired Systems Conformance, Inc. (SCI). Ishmael Cruz, president and founder of SCI, will remain as president and general manager.

FMC Technologies Inc. will acquire Norway-based Multi Phase Meters AS (MPM), a manufacturer of multiphase flow meters.

Certification

’s Pipeline & Specialty Services (P&SS) group has taken its Integrated Management System Certification from a global to a hemispheric matrix. During June, Western Hemisphere facilities in Lafayette, Louisiana and Macaé, Brazil completed recertification audits. Results were accepted by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) which issued certification to both of these facilities.
The ISO 9001:2008 Certificate issued by DNV will have Lafayette, LA as the hub for the Western Hemisphere and will list the additional site, Macaé, Brazil. The certificate will expand to include all other locations within the Western Hemisphere as these locations complete certification audits.

The AMETEK Petrolab Company has opened a new calibration and service center at the 40,000 square-foot AMETEK Oil and Gas facility near Tulsa, OK. The Petrolab Company Tulsa service center has been ISO-certified since 1993. The center provides additional service enhancements for Petrolab customers including a full engineering staff, sales support personnel, and factory-trained service representatives offering customer support.
