The founders of Texas ReExcavation, LC, a Houston?based oilfield services company, have acquired GSPE Engineering, Inc. and formed T-Rex Engineering & Construction, LC.

The new company will focus on the construction of offshore oil and gas equipment including build?to?specification Pipeline End Terminals and Manifolds (PLETs / PLEMs), Umbilical Termination Assembly (UTA) frames, Pig Launchers, Process Piping, In?line Sleds (ILS), Manifolds, Jumpers, Spreader Bars and other related equipment. Gary A. Sidwell, PE, SECB, founder of GSPE Engineering, Inc. (GSPE), has been named President of the new group.

Cortec Manifold Systems (CMS) purchased Technical Control Systems (TCS), an Array Holdings division, previously located in Oklahoma City, OK, in January 2009. CMS took on the TCS entire line of products, including compact ball valves, check valves, sub-sea ball valves and drilling diverted valves.

J-W Operating Company has consolidated the manufacturing divisions of J-W Power Company, J-W Measurement Company and J-W Wireline Company into an entity to be known as J-W Manufacturing Company. The manufacturing facilities, located in Bristow, OK; Casper, WY; Farmington, NM; and Sherman, Kilgore and Longview, TX, specialize in manufacturing natural gas compression packages, gas measurement packages, measurement buildings, wireline trucks, and other ancillary oilfield equipment.

Paul N. Stephenson has been appointed president of J-W Manufacturing Company.

Interpipe recently commissioned a pipe coating line with a capacity of 250,000 tons/yr, at the Interpipe NTRP mill in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. Equipment for the pipe coating line was supplied by Venjakob, Germany. The new coating will protect pipes from corrosion and will be applied to different types of pipes with diameters ranging from 73 – 178 mm. The protective ultra-violet coating placed on the pipes has a quick drying capability of 0.5-2 seconds. The paint setting also has an air purification system that keeps the workshop atmosphere unpolluted, does not contain varnish and is entirely safe for workers.

Duncan Pell, commercial director of Interpipe said, “The new protective coating will help to preserve the quality of pipes during both their long-term storage and transportation. This protection during transportation is particularly crucial for the supply of goods to long-distance markets such NAFTA and the Middle East.”

National Oilwell Varco (NOV) has acquired ASEP Group Holding B.V. and Anson Limited. ASEP, based in the Netherlands, develops and manufactures well service equipment, including wireline units, cranes, coiled tubing equipment, pressure control products, and automation products and has operations in nine countries. UK-based Anson manufactures flowline equipment, manifolds, valves, swivel joints, hammer lug unions, and wellheads, which will complement NOV’s Mission pump and fluid expendables products.

CC Technologies
, acquired by DNV in 2005, is changing its name to that of the parent company, DNV. The company’s services will be combined with DNV’s professional services designed to improve business performance. DNV provides world-class expertise in technology, operations, management and risk through a network of 300 offices in 100 countries with over 7,000 employees.

BJ Services has a new base in Oirschot near Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The base, which replaces the previous process and pipeline services base in Oirschot that had been operating since 2001, is part of a major investment in Continental Europe. BJ provides process and pipeline services from the facility to customers across Continental Europe and North Africa. The base offers the largest fleet of onshore nitrogen services and pipeline recompression equipment in Europe.

Liberty Coating Company, LLC, an applicator for industrial coatings serving natural gas, oil, petrochemical, water and waste water industries in the Northeastern United States, has purchased a 35-acre site in Morrisville, PA. Liberty Coating Company’s facility includes 110,000 square feet of coating application facilities for preparing and coating piping up to 96 inches in diameter for both internal and external coating systems. The company offers more than a dozen coating systems, including the dual layer proprietary anticorrosion Pritec® system. The site, which is part of the Keystone Industrial Port Complex, includes rail, road, and port access to the Delaware River. Located near the I-95 Corridor, Liberty provides services from Maine to Virginia.

TechCorr USA, LLC has opened new offices in New Delhi and Mumbai, India. The new office addresses are: 10 Retiwala Industrial Estate, Sussex Road, Near Victoria Road. Byculla (East), Mumbai -400027, India; and B-5/150 Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi – 110 029, India.

Enventure Global Technology
’s subsidiary, Enventure Global Technology Trading (Beijing) Co. Ltd., opened its first office in Beijing to support China’s demand for its innovative drilling and production technology. The new office is located on the 12th floor of Silver Tower No. 2 on Dong San Huan North Road in the Chao Yang District.

As the next step in the alliance announced in June 2008, Caterpillar Inc. and Navistar International Corporation have signed a definitive agreement to produce Caterpillar heavy-duty vocational trucks for sale in North America and form a 50/50 joint venture that will pursue global commercial truck opportunities outside of North America.

Roxar has joined the Emerson Process Management family of companies effective immediately. According to the company, contacts will not change.

Doosan Infracore America announced Bobcat Central as its newest addition to its dealer network. With locations in Stockton, Merced and Fresno, CA, Bobcat Central will offer the full-line of Doosan excavators and wheel loaders to the Central Californian market.

Major Chinese steel producer Baosteel reports its 600,000 ton/a seamless steel pipe production plant in Yantai, located in Shandong’s Fushan District, will be commissioned in October. The plant is set to supply some of China’s major upcoming pipeline projects. The entire two-phase construction project is expected to become fully operational by the end of 2010.

The Yantai project is being realized through Baosteel subsidiary Baoshan Iron & Steel, and its products will be used in large oil and gas drilling and transportation projects.

Flowserve Corporation has expanded its valve Quick Response Center (QRC) located in Boothwyn, PA. The QRC services the entire Flowserve portfolio of control valves and positioners, including Valtek, Kammer and Logix. The site also services control valves made by other manufacturers.

Helix Energy Solutions has sold its subsurface reservoir consulting business based in Aberdeen, Scotland, to a subsidiary of Baker Hughes Incorporated for $25 million.

An agreement has been reached that will allow Caterpillar to remanufacture Eaton Corporation’s heavy duty transmissions at its Summerville, SC facility beginning in the third quarter 2009.

Atlas America, Inc. will merge with Atlas Energy, with Atlas Energy surviving as a wholly owned subsidiary of Atlas America. Richard D. Weber, president of Atlas Energy President Richard D. Weber said, “We believe that, by merging with Atlas America, we will create a new entity that will have the financial resources to accelerate and expand the development of our Marcellus Shale assets where we have already identified 4 to 6 Tcf of additional reserves.”

The transaction will need the approval of holders of a majority of the outstanding Atlas America common stock and a majority of the outstanding Atlas Energy Class B units, consent of a majority of the lenders under the Atlas Energy credit agreement and other customary closing conditions.

GE Oil & Gas is streamlining of its operating company brands. The simplified company brand and name structure involves using the GE Oil & Gas name for all acquired companies, notably VetcoGray, Hydril Pressure Control and PII, in the marketplace. However, to maintain customer recognition and consistency, specific branded product, application and technology names will remain consistent, for example the VetcoGray FullBore Subsea Wellhead System and the Hydril Pressure Control Blowout Preventer.

According to the new structure, the GE Oil & Gas portfolio of products, services and solutions will be re-grouped into six categories: Drilling and Production; LNG & Pipeline; Industrial Power Generation; PII Pipeline Solutions; Refinery & Petrochemical; and Global Services. The new company branding structure was unveiled at the recent 2009 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.

Siemens Energy has selected Hutchinson, KS for its first U.S. nacelle production facility. The 300,000-sq-foot facility and an adjacent 80,000-sq-ft service and repair facility will be built on more than 100 acres in Reno County, which is located northwest of Wichita on the Arkansas River. The operation is expected to create an estimated 400 green-collar jobs and will be the first major wind turbine equipment factory in Kansas, which is ranked third in the U.S. for its wind energy resource potential. The new facilities will allow Siemens to better meet the strong demand for wind turbines in the Americas.

The DISA Group has merged with the Wheelabrator Group. The two companies, both owned by Mid Europa Partners, have been given official approval by the German Bundeskartellamt to complete their merger process.
