Magnuson Named PR Director at NGSA

The Natural Gas Supply Association announced July 9 that it has hired long-time energy professional Daphne Magnuson to take over its day-to-day public relations efforts.

Prior to joining NGSA, Magnuson worked for the Electric Power Supply Association (EPSA), where she served as vice president of public affairs. Before that she served as the senior director of communications for the American Gas Association (AGA).

In making the announcement, R. Skip Horvath, NGSA’s president and CEO, announced that NGSA’s former public relations director has been tasked with focusing on communications efforts targeting elected officials, further raising the profile of natural gas in the national energy debate.

“Jeff Schrade has been given a new undertaking as Director of Political Communications. He has over 20 years of experience in the political realm and this change should enhance NGSA’s outreach to those who impact the natural gas industry,” Horvath said.

Prior to joining NGSA, Schrade spent nearly 10 years working on Capitol Hill as the communications director for two Senate Committees. He also served on the state staff of two U.S. Senators, handled policy issues involving nuclear waste for the Governor of Idaho, and successfully managed a candidate’s race for the U.S. House of Representatives.
