Joint Venture To Build 280-Mile Crude Line

The China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has established a joint venture with refiner Shandong Dongming Petrochemical Group to construct and operate a new crude oil pipeline.

The 287-mile pipeline will connect the port city of Rizhao to the Dongming refinery, both located in the Shandong province. CNPC said the pipeline will have a capacity of 10 MMt/a in the first phase of construction, increasing to 20 MMt/a in the second phase. Commissioning of Phase I of the $US293 million pipeline is scheduled for June 2011.
