Pemex seeks bids for Central Mexico natural gas pipeline

Petroleos Mexicanos, the state oil company of Mexico, announced August 27 that it is preparing to elicit bids from companies to construct a $600 million pipeline through Central Mexico. The contract would also include a 20-year service agreement.

The pipeline’s route and specifications would be determined by the companies who offer bids. The pipeline is expected increase transmission capacity by 400 million cubic feet per day, however, and run from Tamazunchale to San Jose Iturbide via San Luis de la Paz.

According to Pemex 18 companies have shown interest in the project thus far.
