Second Line of China-Russia Oil Pipeline Now in Service

Commercial operations on the second line of the China-Russia oil pipeline commenced on Jan. 1, 2018.
Construction on the 941.8-kilometer pipeline, which originates in the Russian town of Skovorodino and connects Mohe to the city of Daqing in northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, started in August 2016. The pipeline runs parallel to the first line between Mohe and Daqing, which began operations on Jan. 1, 2011.
With the second line of the China-Russia oil pipeline now in service, China’s yearly imports of Russian crude are expected to double from 15 million to 30 million tonnes.
