Exova Awarded Contract to Improve McDermott’s Pipeline Production
Exova has received a contract from McDermott to provide a range of testing services in support of McDermott’s structural and pipeline production welding facility.
Working from its Abu Dhabi laboratory, with support from Al Futtaim Exova Metallurgy in Dubai, Exova will deliver testing services for weld procedure qualification, welder qualification, coatings procedure approval and component forensic analysis.
Exova will conduct various tests to provide the qualifications, including mechanical, fracture mechanics, and sour gas corrosion testing, along with coatings and failure analysis.
“McDermott recently won several offshore fabrication contracts and we’re pleased to be supporting them to deliver quality pipeline production,” Neil Hold, UAE Operations Manager at Exova, said. “Our Abu Dhabi laboratory has the capabilities and capacity to provide the required technically demanding qualifications on time, while managing McDermott’s high volume of activity.”
