Magellan, TransMontaigne Consider South Texas Refined Products Pipeline

Magellan Midstream Partners and TransMontaigne Partners announced they are assessing the development of a new refined products pipeline in South Texas.

In a joint announcement, the two companies said the project would include construction of a 150-mile, 16-inch pipeline capable of transporting 150,000 bpd of gasoline, diesel fuel, propane and condensate from Magellan’s Corpus Christi, TX terminal to TransMontaigne’s Brownsville terminal for distribution to local markets or delivery to Mexico “via truck, rail or connections to pipelines owned by TransMontaigne and other companies.”

The design would allow for expansion to 250,000 bpd and could be operational by the end of 2018, the companies said.
