Dresser-Rand Shows Combined Solutions with Siemens at Gastech 2015

At the Gastech Conference and Exhibition 2015 held Oct. 27-30 in Singapore, Dresser-Rand displayed how its combined solutions with Siemens offers clients what it says are the oil and gas industry’s most extensive portfolio of rotating equipment, including the launch of the new RB211-GT30 gas turbine.

“Dresser-Rand is already well-known for providing efficient rotating equipment for nearly every application in the oil and gas industry,” said Patrice Bardon, vice president of Client Services for LNG at Dresser-Rand. “Now with expanded resources as a member of the Siemens family, Dresser-Rand combines the industry’s most extensive portfolio of rotating equipment with the world’s largest technical support and service center network.”

New aero-derivative gas turbines combining the expertise of Siemens and Dresser-Rand visitors of stand D100 were introduced to the RB211-GT30, a new lightweight aero-derivative gas turbine for the oil and gas industry that requires no gearbox and drives a two-pole AC generator at either 60 Hz or 50 Hz.

With a lightweight construction of the package that is 30% smaller and has been designed specifically for offshore duty, the turbine comes with a three-point base mount and torque tube design. Due to the availability of an inbuilt rail system, the gas turbine can be removed from either side of the package and exchanged in less than 24 hours. Though the auxiliary systems are functionally unchanged, they have been optimized to improve maintenance access, while increasing online maintenance when the unit is running.

The new gas turbine combines the expertise of Siemens, Dresser-Rand and Rolls-Royce Energy, and represents the first new product from the union.

Enhancing LNG Services

Dresser-Rand’s LNGo™ system is the latest innovation for the LNG market. Using a combination of Dresser-Rand technologies, including its MOS™ reciprocating compressor, Guascor® gas engine, and Enginuity® control system, in a portable, small-footprint package that can be placed on well pads, gas flares and similar sites, the LNGo system allows for small stand-alone plants that are portable and can be moved to support changing requirements and needs.

The portable LNGo natural gas production system joins the long list of Siemens onshore and offshore solutions for liquefaction plants, including electric motor variable speed drive systems with reliable generators and transformers that produce the needed electrical energy as well as market-leading solutions for boil-off gas, and compressors. The LNGo system can be used in upstream, midstream and downstream applications.

DATUM Compressors

Designed for maximum performance in all pressure and flow applications in the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas industries, the Dresser-Rand DATUM® line of centrifugal compressors offers efficiency, reliability and easy maintenance for gas gathering, liquid recovery, gas lift, gas injection, pipeline boosters, gas storage, recompression and reinjection. It can also be used for wet gas, hydrogen, coker and other hydrocarbon and utility gases when refining.

Time-Efficient Power Supply

During the show, Siemens showcased its customized E-Houses, which are fully equipped and pre-tested modular power substations for a fast and reliable power supply. E-Houses are built to accommodate Siemens’ comprehensive portfolio of medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage switchboards and busbar trunking systems, auxiliary equipment.

Dresser-Rand and Siemens integrated field-service teams assist clients in developing cost-effective, field-proven solutions for all rotating equipment and related control systems. The field-service teams are supported by an extensive technical support network consisting of research and development teams, equipment design engineers and aerodynamic performance engineers who are available to help conduct application and feasibility studies for complex projects.

The service could also provide a long-term service contract that covers the online condition monitoring of the equipment or can be set up to operate the unit for the client.
