SemGroup to Build Maurepas Pipelines
SemGroup plans to build and operate three pipelines in the Gulf Coast region of Louisiana. Collectively named the Maurepas Pipelines, they will support Motiva Enterprises efforts to interconnect its refinery operations.
The $500 million project will include:
- A 34.2 mile, 24-inch crude oil pipeline connected to LOCAP, crossing the Mississippi River and terminating at Motiva’s Norco refinery
- 35 miles of 24-inch intermediate pipeline between Motiva’s Norco and Convent refineries
- 34 miles of 6-inch intermediate pipeline between Motiva’s Norco and Convent refineries
The project is supported by long-term transportation agreements with Motiva and is expected to be operational in late 2016.
