DENSO Wins Large IOCL Contract For Pipeline Coating

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), which is upgrading its more than 11,000- km pipeline grid after 40 years of operation, has contracted for more than 2.4 million square meters of pipeline coating from DENSO GmbH Germany.

India’s biggest pipeline operator will execute the rehabilitation under operating conditions and has selected a three-ply (inner wrap) and two-ply (outer wrap) PE/butyl tape system, in part, because of the ease of application.

The coating will be delivered in through 2015 for about 320-km of pipeline. DENSO had already delivered more than 2.6 million square meters of its AS39P/R20HT tape system to IOCL for rehabilitation purposes.

The DENSOLEN® tape system has been used in numerous pipeline projects worldwide with more than 100 million square meters applied during the last 40 years.
