Magellan Midstream Extends Open Season For Products Pipeline

Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. extended its open season to solicit capacity commitments from shippers to transport refined petroleum products to Little Rock, AR.

According to the company, industry feedback continues to be positive, and Magellan management remains optimistic about the prospects for this project. Binding commitments for the project closed on Nov. 20.

As previously announced, Magellan is assessing customer interest to transport up to 75,000 bpd of gasoline, diesel fuel and jet fuel from the partnership’s Ft. Smith, AR terminal, providing the Little Rock market access to refined products from Mid-Continent and Gulf Coast refineries via Magellan’s refined petroleum products pipeline system. The potential project includes construction of a 160-mile, 12-inch diameter pipeline from the Ft. Smith terminal to the Little Rock market.

Subject to the open season and approvals, the pipeline could be operational in the third quarter of 2015.
