Fluid Components International (FCI)
The ST102A Air/Gas Thermal Mass Flow Meter from Fluid Components International features an advanced dual-element averaging system designed to improve installation repeatability and accuracy for large-diameter pipes and ducts. The company says flow measurement applications involving line sizes 12 inches or greater can realize improved installation accuracy and repeatability by averaging the flow rates of two elements. Distorted, swirling and non-repeatable flow profiles can result in decreased accuracy of single point meters. It is often impractical or impossible to provide the required straight-run for a fully developed flow profile in large lines. On this model, transmitter electronics average the input from two independent flow elements into a single output. Each flow element can be independently configured for insertion length and process connection to allow installation flexibility. 760-744-6950, email@example.com, www.fluidcomponents.com.
Fairbanks Morse Engines
Fairbanks Morse Engine will supply five two-stroke opposed-piston dual-fuel, engine-driven crude oil pump sets and auxiliary equipment to Ecopetrol, the primary oil and gas producer in Colombia, for the Ayachucho-Covenas pipeline. The engine-driven pump sets will increase capacity of the pipeline, which transports crude oil from the Colombian interior to the Covenas port on Colombia’s north coast. Two 12-cylinder engines, each rated at 4410 hp, will be installed at the line’s El Retiro pumping station and three 9-cylinder, 3308 hp units will be installed at the El Banco pumping station. These units have been designed specifically to operate on 99% natural or associated field gas and a 1% diesel pilot. If the natural gas supply is interrupted, the engine automatically switches back to diesel fuel and continues to operate without interruption. In addition, the two-stroke, opposed-piston design has significantly fewer moving parts compared to four-stroke engines, which simplifies maintenance and reduces maintenance costs. www.fairbanksmorse.com.
