NDT Opens Pipeline Inspection Tool Factory, Doubles ILI Tool Fleet

NDT Systems & Services, a supplier of ultrasonic pipeline inspection and integrity services, has opened a tool factory at its Stutensee location in Germany. The new tool construction facility was set up to assemble inline inspection tool components and to turn them into full-fledged intelligent pigging tools for both onshore and offshore inspection projects.

The 15-million-Euro investment will allow NDT to double its inspection tool capacity and to respond to the growing demand for liquid pipeline inspections by means of ultrasonic technology. The first tools were to be ready for inspection projects by the end of June,.

“This investment is our reaction to the overall, worldwide market growth for ultrasonic pipeline inspections”, says NDT Systems & Services President Wolfgang Krieg, “but it also reflects our commitment to investing in engineering capacity and to strengthening our technology leadership.”
