Dominion Secures Deal To Move Marcellus Shale Gas

Dominion announced its natural gas transmission and storage subsidiary, Dominion Transmission, has reached a 10-year lease agreement with Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company for firm capacity to move Marcellus shale natural gas supplies.

The Ellisburg-to-Craigs project, with capacity of 150,000 Dth/d will move gas from Tennessee’s 300 Line pipeline system in northern Pennsylvania to its 200 Line pipeline system in upstate New York.

The project will require the construction of additional compression facilities and new regulating facilities.
If federal regulators approve the project, construction would begin in March 2012 and operations on Nov. 1, 2012 Dominion expects to file for regulatory approval for the project in December.
