Willbros Canada To Build Boreal Pipeline

Willbros Group Inc.’s Canadian unit, Willbros Canada, has been awarded the contract for construction of the Williams Energy Canada Boreal Pipeline.

The 12-inch pipeline will transport high vapor pressure liquids 420 km from Williams’ Liquid Extraction Plant north of Fort McMurray to its Redwater Olefins Facility northeast of Edmontona. Construction will be completed in three construction seasons commencing this fall with completion in 2012.

Willbros’ President and CEO Randy Harl said, “This award is particularly significant for Willbros as visibility in our Canadian pipeline construction unit now extends into 2012. We continue to see increasing opportunities in Canada.”
