Iroquois Pipeline Planned To Connect Marcellus Gas Supplies To New Markets

Iroquois Gas Transmission System L.P. recently held a non-binding open season that ends Jan. 29 for its NYMarc project proposed to connect rapidly expanding Marcellus gas supplies to New York, New England and eastern Canadian gas markets.

As proposed, the NYMarc project will interconnect with both the Tennessee Gas Pipeline in Sussex County, NJ and the Millennium Pipeline in Orange County, NY and traverse a northeasterly route for 66 miles before tying into Iroquois’ mainline in Pleasant Valley, NY. The project will provide producers in the Marcellus Shale access to Iroquois’ existing marketplace and the opportunity to supply more than 1 Bcf/d of Northeast market demand. The project is targeted for service as early as Nov. 1, 2014.
