Corinth Upgrades Pipe Manufacturing Facility

Corinth Pipeworks S.A. reports it is the first pipe manufacturer worldwide to produce 26-inch outside diameter pipes using the HFI (High Frequency Induction) welding process.

With the technical support of the German engineering and equipment supplier SMS MEER, the project of upgrading the 24-inch ERW/HFI line in the company’s Thisvi plant began in 2007 and concluded with the successful running of a sequence of wall thicknesses and grades. In parallel, a number of additional improvements were implemented which resulted in the modernization of the plant. With this upgrade, Corinth Pipeworks says it has widened the range of choices available for viable solutions for oil and gas transmission.
